Types of papers accepted for review

To meet the scientific quality criteria, documents submitted to the Editorial Committee of the Perspectivas Journal must meet one of the following typologies:

  • Scientific research article: document that reports in detail the original results of theoretical or experimental research activities.
  • Technological application article: document that reports the implementation methodology of improved or innovative engineering applications, together with the original results achieved during experimentation phases. The structure of scientific and technological articles generally contains five important sections: summary, introduction, description/methodology, results/discussion and conclusions.
  • Discussion article: document that presents research results from an analytical, interpretive or critical perspective of the author, on a specific topic, using original sources.
  • Review article: document resulting from bibliographic research where the results of published or unpublished research are analyzed, systematized and integrated and that represent the state of the art of a particular topic, on a field in science or technology, in order to account for advances and development trends. It is characterized by presenting a careful bibliographic review of at least 50 references.
  • Short article: brief document that presents preliminary or partial original results of a scientific or technological investigation, which generally require prompt dissemination.
  • Case report: document that presents the results of a study on a particular situation in order to make known the technical and methodological experiences considered in a specific case. It includes a systematic review with comments of the literature on analogous cases.
  • Editorial: document written by the editor, a member of the editorial committee or a guest researcher on guidelines in the thematic domain of the journal.
